• History :- The department was established with the foundation of the college in 1951. Since then, it has been producing the graduates of the learned students for the area.
• Vision & Mission : When English language was introduced in London University as a subject, the main vision was to inculcate the liberal mechanism in the people of England and the world as well in India, the mission was to produce a race that may be  Indian in color and English in mind but at S.S.V. College the fundamental needs of the area has been in the focus and that is to spread the light of knowledge and to make them human beings in right sense.
